Optimus and ZON TV Cabo in late 2013 went through a merge process, with the goal of providing a broader range of services, which resulted in the new trademarck NOS.

The brand operated in the telecommunications industry offering Internet, telephone, TV and Video Store and Net Mobile. Trademarcks Optimus and ZON TV Cabo had competitors like Vodafone, MEO and PT Comunicações. Optimus was owned by Sonaecom, a sub-holding of Sonae group for telecommunications and information technologies.

Optimus was looking for innovation in universities for its product Optimus Kanguru. The goal was to get new customers and new services on mobile internet segment, through InoCrowd platform.

A methodology based on a business case, grounded on Optimus current rates/services, would have to prove to earn significant increase in attracting regular users of mobile Internet; this was the main challenge set by the telecommunications company.

Optimus launched a second challenge by which it was intended to identified new services enhanced by the use of mobile internet.

A solution was found for both challenges within only two months’ time.

The platform is the first online national network that allows companies to find innovation and technology with researchers from universities around the world. This is an innovative way to find innovative and creative solutions for Optimus.
